On March 15, 2019, within one year to the day of contract award, WSC completed delivery of three high-fidelity full scope simulators to Duke for the Hines Energy Complex Power Blocks 1, 2 and 3. Though there are some similarities between the units, significant differences motivated the Duke customer to order unique, plant-specific simulators for each power block. Differences included HRSG and feedwater design, bypass control logic, BOP and ST controls, dual fuel capabilities, and turbine efficiencies. These three simulators represent numbers 28, 29 and 30 of the thirty total full scope simulators WSC has delivered to Duke over the last 15 years, going back to our original partnership with Progress Energy. WSC's 3KEYITS Intelligent Tutoring System software and lessons was also included with this delivery and is being installed on additional Duke simulators during ongoing upgrade and enhancement projects.
